This t-shirt was designed for the Drupalcon Redux event which took place in Dublin October 2016. DrupalCon is the heartbeat of the Drupal community, with just over 2,000 people attending this conference last year. It’s a full week dedicated to sharing and growing Drupal skills and where important business connections are built. The conference isn’t just for Drupal developers, many designers, project managers, analysts, media, and businesses/agencies gather to participate in learning sessions, talks, code sprints, and social events.
This design was also used for the conferences wider marketing campaign which had “The Future of Work” as it’s overarching theme. Given the diversity and professional backgrounds of the conference attendee’s, it was vital that the design wasn’t patronising or leave any room for ambiguity. We needed something which would be eye-catching, give a nod to the theme of the conference but also be transferable to other branded material; such as stickers, tote bags and signage. Keeping the design fun, futuristic and non-gender specific meant that it also had a life which extends beyond that of the conference – to become an item that people would want to keep and wear outside of DrupalCon.
The simple space rocket theme for the design was a huge success with the sponsors and the attendees.
